Getting Started with Whiteout Survival
Welcome to the frozen wasteland! Whether you’ve just started or you’re looking to optimize your early game, this guide covers the essentials.
Your First 24 Hours
The most important thing when starting out is upgrading your Furnace. Everything in the game revolves around your Furnace level — it gates building upgrades, troop tiers, and access to events.
Priority Checklist
- Upgrade your Furnace as fast as possible
- Join an alliance immediately for alliance help (reduces build times)
- Complete daily tasks for free resources and speedups
- Don’t waste speedups on anything below 1 hour — let timers run naturally
Resource Management
Resources are the lifeblood of your city. Here’s how to manage them effectively:
- Food — Always keep a surplus. Troops consume food constantly
- Wood & Stone — Needed for buildings. Prioritize gathering these early
- Iron — Becomes critical at higher Furnace levels
Pro tip: Never leave resources unprotected. Always use a shield when you log off, especially during Kill Events.
Joining an Alliance
An alliance is not optional — it’s essential. Here’s what to look for:
- Active members who donate and participate in events
- Alliance territory that provides resource bonuses
- Organized leadership running bear trap, foundry, and canyon events efficiently
